In certain scenarios, it may be beneficial to install and run multiple player instances on the same hardware. Examples include:
• A Windows player with multiple video output cards, allowing to run fully independent player instance for each output.
• Large LED panels where different players are assigned to different screen regions.
• Situations requiring more than the 10 regions per screen limit.
Installing multiple instances is simple, but before proceeding, ensure that your hardware has sufficient computing power and video decoding capability to run multiple OnSign players simultaneously on the same Windows machine.
Installation Process
- Download the latest OnSign player, and run the downloaded executable file.
- Select the “Advanced ” located on the bottom left corner

- Select the “Instance number” to be installed

- After selecting the “Instance number”, just follow the process until the installation is finished.
Each OnSign installed instance must be assigned to a separate OnSign player license and operates as an independent entity.
Every installed instance is isolated and managed separately by the Windows operating system.
This also means that when a player upgrade is required, each instance must be upgraded individually. Similarly, any instance can be uninstalled using the Windows “Add or Remove Programs” feature.
Important notes
- This feature is only available for OnSign Player for Windows version 10.6.11 and above.
- It is possible to install up to four OnSign Player instances on a single Windows machine.
- The instances can be added to a Sync Group to present synchronized content across all players.
