Connecting a Player to OnSign TV
This OnSign Academy episode will walk you through the process of connecting a hardware player to your OnSign TV account, enabling you to manage and display content seamlessly.
Step 1: Install the OnSign TV Player App
Begin by installing the OnSign TV Player application on your chosen hardware device. OnSign TV supports various platforms, including Android, Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS. You can download the appropriate version from the OnSign TV Downloads Page.
Step 2: Launch the Player App
After installation, open the OnSign TV Player app on your device. Upon launching, the app will display a unique six-character pairing code on the screen. This code is essential for linking your device to your OnSign TV account.
Step 3: Access Your OnSign TV Account
Using a web browser, navigate to OnSign TV and log in to your account. If you don't have an account yet, you can create a free trial account .
Step 4: Add a New Player
Once logged in:
Click on the "Players" tab located in the top menu.
Select the "Add Player" button.
In the prompt that appears, enter the six-character pairing code displayed on your device.
Click "Add" to complete the pairing process.
Your device is now linked to your OnSign TV account and will appear in your list of players.
Step 5: Assign Content to Your Player
With your player connected, you can now assign campaigns to it:
Navigate to the "Campaigns" tab.
Choose an existing campaign or create a new one.
While editing the campaign, select the "Players" tab within the campaign editor.
Check the box next to the player you wish to assign the campaign to.
Click "Publish" to send the campaign to the selected player.
The content will now display on your connected device.
Additional Tips
- Player Status: In the "Players" tab, you can monitor the status of each connected device, including online/offline status, last check-in time, and current content being displayed.
- Organizing Players: For better management, especially if you have multiple devices, consider organizing your players into folders or groups based on location or function.
- Scheduling Content: Utilize the scheduling features within campaigns to display specific content at designated times or days.
