Combine two OnSign tools – QR Code App and on-demand playback – to let viewers interact with your products and content!
How does it work?
You can present a QR Code App in full-screen or in a region of a Campaign Layout so that the viewer who wishes to obtain more info can do so.
When scanning the QR code, OnSign will trigger the on-demand Content on the display, while optionally also opening a web page on the viewer's smartphone.
Step-by-step
- Create Content with the additional info you wish to trigger on screen.
- Save & Publish as on-demand. In the “Redirect to URL” textbox you can insert a web page which will trigger on the viewer's smartphone (optional).
- After publishing the on-demand Content to the Player, copy the URL which triggers this on-demand Content. Go to the Content in Player menu of your Player and scroll down to the Triggered Content. Click the little chain icon next to the start playback button and copy the URL. Paste it somewhere. You will need it later.
- Now, create the Campaign to which you wish to add the QR Code App which shall trigger the on-demand Content. You can of course also directly publish the QR Code App in full-screen.
- Add the previously copied on-demand Play URL to the QR Code App (learn how to create the QR Code App here).
- Publish the Campaign with the QR Code App to the Primary Playback Loop.
When viewers scan it your on-demand Content will be shown on screen! It will also immediately redirect your customer's phone to the URL of your choice.
Note: You can also generate QR codes from a free online QR code generator with the on-demand Content's play URL and print it. Attach it next to a product and each time somebody scans it, the Content will be triggered on screen.
