If you want to prepare a Player ahead of time, you will not want to use a valuable license in vain. You can create a Player profile even without a license.
This will allow you to set up the hardware, adjust settings, even publish content. The Player will not play any content without the license. When you are ready to show your content, all you need to do is assign the license.
- Go to your Players page and click on “Setup Player” like you would normally do.
- If you have no available licenses, a window will tell you so. Click on “Proceed Without License”.
- This opens the regular pairing code window. Enter the pairing code and click on “Setup Player”.
By the way, if you don't have a device at the ready, you can set up the Player profile without a device with “Create Detached Player”. This skips the pairing code.
- Choose a Player name. The Subscription box will automatically be empty if you have no available licenses. If you have available licenses, change the preselected license to
------. Finish with the orange “Add Player” button.
Your Player without a license will be shown highlighted on your Players page. You can further adjust the Player settings or even publish content to it. The Player will not play any content until you assign a license to it.
