Managing published Content

You can manage Content which is already published to a Player at any time, either on the page of a specific device or in a Group of Players.

  1. In your OnSign TV account, select the Player or Player Group you want to review. You can select them by clicking on the tabs "Players" or "Player Groups" in the panel on the left.
  2. Select a Player or Player Group.
  3. On the Player or Player Group page, select "Content in Player" or "Content in Group" from the menu.
  4. On this page you can check out all Campaigns, Playlists, and individual Content published to this specific device or group, including the time, date, and location restrictions.
  5. You can perform several actions on this page to manage your Content:

Pause Content

This option puts your Content on hold and prevents it from being shown on screen, while keeping it stored on the device's internal storage. Use it when you want to resume to showing a Content again soon and wish to generally save the publishing settings of the Content, for example when you need to make a brief edit.

More on pausing Content here.

Unpublish Content

With this action, you remove a piece of Content permanently from the device (but not from the web account, of course). Use it when you will no longer show this Content and would like to free storage space on the device for other Content.

Reorder Content sequence

Adjust the sequence in which your Campaigns, Playlists, and individual Content pieces are played back.

Edit restrictions

When publishing Content, you may have applied time, date and other restrictions. You can edit them anytime through this page, extending or limiting Content playback on the Player. Simply click on the pencil icon next to the restriction or the note "Play with no restriction".

Here is one important distinction: Restrictions can be set when publishing Content onto a Player or they can be set very generally on the piece of Content itself. In the Content in Player, you may therefore see two restriction information boxes. The one on top are the restrictions which are set during publishing onto the Player. These you can change in the Content in Player page which this tutorial is about.

More on publishing restrictions here.

If a Content has a restriction on itself, you will see a thin line and another restrictions box. It will say "Restrictions from [name of the Content]". These restrictions you cannot change in the Content in Player page which this tutorial is about. These restrictions you can only change from the Content page.

Trigger on-demand Content

From the Content in Player page, you can trigger that Content which is stored on the device, but should be displayed only on certain occasions. You find this Content in the section Triggered Content. Just hit the "Play" button to the right of the Content.
