A common requirement for interactive digital signage deployments is to allow users to browse a website while preventing them from navigating to external domains.
For example, an organization may want users to interact with content on its online store while preventing access to external links that could lead to unrelated or unwanted content.
To address this need, OnSign provides a Navigation Restriction feature within the Web Link app. This feature allows administrators to define a list of approved URLs and domains. When enabled, OnSign automatically removes links from the rendered page that do not match the configured allowlist.
This ensures that users can freely interact with the website while remaining within the approved domains.
Configuring Allowed Domains
To configure the list of approved domains:
- Open the Web Link app.
- Scroll to the Security Settings section.
- At the bottom of the section, locate the Allowed Navigation URLs field.
- Enter one or more domains that should be whitelisted.
Once configured, only links that match the approved domains will remain accessible to users.

Platform Compatibility
Because the Allowed Navigation URLs feature requires direct access to the player's embedded web view, it is only available on platforms where OnSign has control over the browser engine.
Supported platforms:
- OnSign for Android
- OnSign for Windows
- OnSign for Linux
- OnSign for macOS
