Introduction to Triggers and Interactivity

Your content, your rules. Control when your content plays by defining specific trigger rules, whether at a scheduled time, on demand, or through audience interaction.

The Triggers and Interactivity menu is available either on the Player as a whole or constraint to a Campaign.

We’ll explore each option in more detail in the following tutorials. For now, this is what the Trigger settings looks like:

Triggers can be set for:

  • Touch Regions: defined areas on the screen that respond to user interaction
  • Key press: input from a connected keyboard
  • Local API: commands sent via a Local Web API
  • Interactivity timeout: triggered after a period of no detected user interaction
  • On Demand: either by a Play command from the OnSign platform or by a accessing a specific URL
  • Crossing a GeoFence: provided the Player is in motion and has GPS
  • Player Attribute Changes: for example when Player tags change
  • Specific Time: scheduled playback at a defined time during the day
