A common cause of black screens during content playback is the use of media files with specifications that are not compatible with the player. Examples include 4K videos played on Full HD displays, frame rates that exceed the device's capabilities, or excessively high bitrates.
To prevent these issues, refer to the recommended media specifications for your player hardware.
The Media Optimizer automatically converts media files into a format compatible with most supported players, eliminating the need to manually reprocess content and reducing playback issues caused by incompatible media.
Optimizing Media
- Go to the Content page.
- Right-click the desired media item.
- Select Optimize Media.

Enabling Optimized Media on a Player
After optimizing the content, configure the player to use the optimized version:
- Open the player's settings from the Settings tab.
- In the Player Settings section, locate the Media Optimization Profile field.
- From the drop-down menu, select Use media optimized for best compatibility.
- Once enabled, the player will automatically use the optimized version of the media whenever it is available.
